Chennai Super Kings is known for unearthing the Indian talent in the IPL. This year again they signed quite a few uncapped Indian players, and one of them is the Andhra youngster, Shaik Rasheed.
CSK signed India U19 youngster Shaik Rasheed for base price of INR 20 lakh in the Indian Premier League (IPL) auction 2023 on Friday (December 23). Last year, he was the vice-captain of the Indian U19 cricket team at the U19 World Cup, and played a pivotal role in India's triumph.
Rasheed made his debut for Andhra in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2022 against Nagaland in October. He smashed 37* off 27 balls and conceded 12 runs from his one-over spell in the debut match. He featured in two more matches in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy this year and scored 56 runs from total of three innings.
Andhra youngster has also appeared in three Vijay Hazare Trophy 2022 matches this season but failed to make any impact with just 14 runs from three innings and no wicket from an innings. Earlier this month, he started for Andhra in their opening Ranji Trophy 2022-23 match but managed to score only eight runs across two innings against Mumbai.

- He was part of India U-19 team which won the 2022 U19 World Cup in February this year.
- Rasheed smashed 50 runs off 84 balls against England in the final of the 2022 U19 World Cup.
- He scored 201 runs from just four innings at an average of 50.25 with the help of two fifties in the 2022 U19 World Cup.
- Rasheed has scored 334 runs from eight one-day games for India U19 team at an impressive average of 55.66 with the help of three fifties so far.
- He was the leading run-scorer for Rayalaseema Kings in APL 2022 with 159 runs from just five innings
- He made his debut for Andhra in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2022 and smashed unbeaten 37 runs against Nagaland.
